I hold a BA in Journalism from Eastern Washington University and a BA in Digital Technology and Culture, Summa Cum Laude, from Washington State University Tri-Cities. I have more than 10 years of professional experience working in design, seven of which have been with an emphasis on web graphics and development, with agencies such as BB&T, a Fortune 500 company; the National Weather Service; and Washington State University.
My background in journalism, web and graphic design, and videography help me bring a diverse set of skills to my job. My skill set includes voiceover narration, video content creation, script writing, storyboarding, video pre-production and post-production (i.e., color correction, timeline editing, basic audio engineering), wire-framing, prototyping, site mapping, concept sketching, strategy development, content management, long-term project management, copy writing, copy editing, event photography, graphic design, agile software development, web design and development, technical writing, and technical training. Because of my prior work in a newsroom environment, I’m at ease with tight deadlines and quick to flex my skills depending on what’s needed of me for the task at hand.
Outside of work, I enjoy consuming copious amounts of coffee (let’s be honest, that’s during work too), playing video games, photography, going to concerts, baking and cooking, and exploring Raleigh.
